The Comparisons Among Angular and AngularJS

Posted By :Rajat Soni |28th April 2022

What is the distinction between AngularJS and Angular? The difference between Angular and AngularJS is that AngularJS is based on JavaScript, whereas Angular is based on TypeScript. As a front-end, open-source platform for creating dynamic SPAs, these two frameworks are comparable, but let's look at the distinctions.

Components of Angular vs AngularJS

What does it mean if one framework is based on JavaScript while the other is based on TypeScript? Their Components differ, as can be seen. Angular leverages TypeScript, which is a superset of ES6 with backward compatibility with ES5. Angular JS, which is built on JavaScript, employs words like scope and controllers, whereas Angular uses a component structure. AngularJS employs directives, whereas Angular is component-based.

Use of Directives between Angular vs AngularJS

While both Angular and AngularJS use directives, the way they are used varies. AngularJS has a set of directives, while Angular has a set of standard directives. When using the Directives, one must use caution. When constructing a two-way binding using AngularJS, for example, you must use the ng-model. ng-bind is used to perform one-way binding.

Only the ngModel is available in Angular. One-way binding symbols are '[],' and two-way binding symbols are '[()].' Property binding is done with '[],' while event binding is done with '().'

Architecture of Angular vs AngularJS

Angular JS

This framework includes a model-view-controller (MVC) that serves as the key component, managing data, logic, rules, and expressing how applications operate.

Model: The model stores all data management information.

View: The view generates the output after analysing the model's data.

The controller receives input and translates it into commands, which are then sent to the model and view.

Angular

Angular's components are directives with templates. There are two types of directives in Angular.

Structural directives modify the DOM's layout by replacing its elements.

Attributive directives alter how the DOM behaves and the appearance of an element.

Mobile support

AngularJS does not provide mobile support while Angular supports mobile.

Performance and Speed

Angular JS's two-way binding capability minimises construction labour and time.

Angular: The framework was upgraded to a better structure, resulting in enhanced performance and speed.

Tool support

Angular JS: The framework relies on third-party tools such as IDE and WebStorm.

Angular: Angular employs the Command Line Interface (CLI) to speed up application development.

The advantages of Angular vs AngularJS

Modularity:

Most of Angular’s core functionality moved to various modules that created a lighter and faster core.

Dynamic loading:

There is a mix of asynchronous templates and support for reactive programming.

AOT/Ahead-of-Time:

This compilation aids in the conversion of HTML and TypeScript to JavaScript throughout the build process. AOT compiles the code, and the browser uses the produced code for faster rendering.

CLI- The Command Line Interface is useful for creating and serving Angular applications. It takes care of project development and makes testing easier.

The architectural component:

This helps to divide the functional and logical components.

Dependency Injection:

Angular employs unidirectional change detection. Angular uses Hierarchical Dependency Injection instead of directives, which AngularJS does, to dramatically improve the framework's speed.

Language:

Angular supports multiple programming languages, including TypeScript, ES5, ES6, and Dart.

Routing:

The Angular framework follows a basic path. It can interpret a URL as a request to go to a client view.

Advantages of AngularJS vs Angular

MVC: The Model View Controller (MVC) employs data binding to accelerate application development.

The combination of two-way data binding with POJO Models creates a cohesive interface that allows you to write less code in your applications.

AngularJS includes a ready unit testing functionality that is regularly updated. A developer tests his own code to detect flaws in his design.

AngularJS provides a comprehensive frontend development solution because it is independent of other frameworks and plugins.

AngularJS is easy to use because its declarative language is HTML.

The AngularJS framework provides users with reusable components.

AngularJS's architecture is more simpler, allowing for faster development of mobile and web applications.

Despite the distinctions between Angular and Angular JS, each has its own set of advantages. Both frameworks are maintained by Google, and they both have a large community behind them. I choose Angular because it can construct single-page applications using TypeScript and HTML and can create dynamic web and mobile applications.
